This tape is just OK but FAR from the quality of the recordings
that I am accustomed to upload. It's just a little better than
"for completists only" and it's a rough tape as far as sound
quality goes. I don't know ; your mileage may vary. I upped this
because I believe that it is EXTREMELY rare and uncirculated and
I thought that some of you BOC fans might get a charge out of
owning it.
I did NOT tape this show and did NOT attend this concert so this will
be fairly short and sweet. I got this tape directly from the taper who
is a very good friend of mine, although at the time of this show I did
not know him. I met him about two years later. It's NOT a really good tape
as sound quality goes but it IS very rare. It is incomplete but fairly
listenable so here it is. My friend told me that it was recorded using
a cheap tape recorder. The mic MAY have been built-in but he does own a
few regular hand-held mics so I'm not really sure on that score. The
audience is vocal but the volume of the music drowns that out. My friend
and his friends talk a little bit but it's not too intrusive. The setlist
is great and BOC is in top form this night. Again, this is a rough tape
to listen to but I've heard worse so I hope that you will welcome this
little show into your collections. The basic problem with this recording
is as follows: the volume level overwhelmed the poor tape recorder so the
whole show is somewhat distorted. It's not the worst distortion that I've
ever heard but it's not the best SQ that I've heard either. CONSIDER
YOURSELVES WARNED !!!
Track 06 (Born To Rock) is from Buck Dharma's solo record "Flat Out".
Godzilla is incomplete, missing the final part of the drum solo and
all of the final vocal reprise. Burnin' For You is incomplete but I'd
say that it's about 75% there. The rest of the show is missing. As far
as what they played after this point, your guess is as good as mine. The
taper doesn't remember what the final songs were and is unsure as to why
the recorder was turned off at this point. Let's just say that he & his
friends were very happy that night, if you know what I mean. The volume
level of this recording is very strong. All instruments are audible and
the vocals are easily understood. The overall distortion is a drawback
though. That's about all that I have to say so let's get this show on
the road...

as it is DEFINITELY uncirculated. This show will be a welcome addition to any
BOC fan's collection.
