You wanna convert a 112kbs file to 320kbs? :hammer:

The file would have a bigger size, but no better quality :D
Maybe I didn't understand you the right way?

Yea guys, transcoding is never cool :)

I'll take flac - hell, I'll even take 128 if its the only other option, but any lower is a nope for me, haha. And 128 is just a matter of tolerant acceptance for me (sorry, audiophile here)

:D

I just realized that the version I had a few years ago, I think it was a rip of the video.

It started out with like 10 minutes of pre-show stuff, etc., before the show started, so I don't know if that's harder to find or what.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Can't find a 'free download' version via Google, haha

I'm not a trader or anything and I don't keep video recordings on my computer. I prefer audio (but I'm glad that there's a ton of stuff out there). When I can upgrade shows, which I find on DVD to download, I do all the work again by downloading it, ripping it to MP3, edit all how it should be and upload it again, so we can have better quality files/recordings :)

When I began gathering bootlegs and uploading them I left out the backstage-video stuff because I felt it wasn't part of the show/wasn't interesting enough. It was a stupid decision by me, because it IS part of the show and definitely should be included, if recorded.

So I don't think (sorry if I sound like a douche) you got something rare, since I - like I said - deleted the stuff years ago and many people don't even know that the pre-show stuff existed.
If you have the show in better quality (better than 112 kb/s) - please upload it :)

Yea, I prefer audio as well. I do collect pro shot videos and really, really good multicams and stuff like that though.

I'm still trying to remember where I originally downloaded it from. I believe it was from "www.onlybootleghere.blogspot.com" around 2009 or 2010.

I also remember that it had 5 or 6 bonus tracks tacked on the end. It had, I think, Breadfan and Damage Inc from the two Copenhagen shows and it had one of Jason's "How Many More Times" jams as well. Just stating this for more info in case someone stumbles upon it somewhere :P

Hey mate, I respect anyone trying to get better sources circulated. I try to do that when I can, too. I can't find a good audio copy of the 3/1/93 Mexico City show that recently leaked as a pro shot. Workin on trying to finagle myself a rip of it if I could get a good copy of the dvd somewhere (slow internet, no time, etc., haha)

Also, I want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful masses of shows you have posted. The only other links on the internet for a lot of them are all pre-Megaupload crash and are dead.

I'm not exagerrating when I say that you probably have the only copies online of at least several shows (probably a lot).

I've been rebuilding my collection from the groundup these last few weeks almost entirely thanks to your thread. When a post of your doesn't suffice, I search elsewhere (usually guitars101), but 95% of it is coming from you.

Again, thank you. ESPECIALLY for all the LiveMet shows in 320. Holy shit they sound great. Thank you.

:metal:

Okay, now I would be a douche if I didn't say a few things:
Back in 2006 I started collecting bootlegs right here (the old JITF, actually), which were originally shared by JumpInTheFire and others. He started the mega-thread idea (824 bootlegs, or so, was an important thread for quite some time). [The main password is "JumpInTheFire" not just because the it's the forums name, but also because of Lance (JITF) :)] I saved the shows on my computer and gathered every single thing I could get, just to have it. When Megaupload was crushed, it was up to someone to upload everything available. That was me.
Then in 2008 or 2009, when the original JITF was down (don't ask me what happened, I can't remember, nothing happened for a while from my side.
In March 2009 I was contacted via e-mail, that there's a new, working JITF board where they're looking for me, to upload bootlegs.
So I did that. I'm part of the JITF MetLive group, to get the newest shows and share them after 2 months, and and and.

Quite some people were helping me (mentioned in the OP of my thread). To get a lot of LiveMet shows in 320 kb/s, kev2236 helped me out a lot.

The problem with copying and posting the shows somewhere else (to get likes or simply attention) is, that when I update/upgrade a show, add a new source, the copied list is screwed up and might confuse people.
If I were you, I would stick to my thread. And if you find something, thinking 'hey, he doesn't have that', just tell me about it. I deleted some shows because they were faked, falsely archived,...

Enough talking for now, haha

Glad you enjoy gathering bootlegs :)

^ Yeah, your topic must be one of the most important ones on teh interwebs when it comes to having most of the available Metallica bootlegs in lossy format gathered in one place.

Speaking of which, I updated this just now.

It's really funny, actually, because I remember that 824 bootlegs post because I first saw it on guitars101 around that time - that's when I first started collecting shows anyway - and I did get some stuff from that that I wish I still had.

Actually, that might've been where I got Stockholm '92 and also 12-21-96 (the AUD source) which I'm currently searching for as well

:)
