I don't have it but I'd like to see it too. It looks like a good show.

It's been almost a month since this was requested. We can't expect SJMIKE to do everything. It seems like he is the only one that uploads a torrent. The others are mega links and I don't know how to make a DVD from them. When I try, it tells me to download a new browser. I already have 2 and really don't want another because it always seems to download other things and make the new browser the default, which I definitely don't want. Can someone else other than Mike step up to the plate and do a torrent? As a last resort, I can have someone else do mega for me and then mail it but a torrent seems so much easier. So if you don't know how to torrent, like me, but know how to do mega, please share and I will go the snail mail route. That's how bad I want it and I know keyable wants it too. I'm willing to bet more than half the people on this site have this show but no one will share. It's not like this was a tough show to film because they had a taper's section back in the 90's. The filmer let it out so lets spread it to the Metallica family.
I just checked and I know the guy that provided the source tape for Hambone to author. Unfortunately the wife made him get out of trading. He has a ton of low gen and master Metallica. The only way I can get access to it though is to drive all the way from Omaha to Jacksonville, IL. I had an offer on the table to do it and get anything I wanted from his collection a couple years ago when I went to Springfield to film Sammy Hagar but got lost and was running late. I had to get a room in Springfield instead of going to his place to burn from his collection. I'm willing to make that trip again if a decent band ever plays the IL state fair again. Sorry but John Mellencamp just doesn't do it for me this year......lol. I will share any Metallica that isn't already out there in the quality that he has.

I just wanted to reply in order to clear up a few things
As for
"I'm willing to bet more than half the people on this site have this show but no one will share"
- I can tell you, almost with 100% certainty that this is not the situation. Firstly, SJMike is a very special case, in that he is regarded as the person with the largest existing Metallica Video collection, in dare I say, the world.
- I am in total agreement that people should not rely on him for their every request whim, but also in many cases he is sometimes the only person that has it that is actively sharing.
- For example, I personally do not have this show. I have a good little collection of Metallica Video recordings, but I generally stay away because I try to focus my efforts (see my Lossless Audio Thread) instead of collecting just anything and everything. Not to mention it gets to be a bit much in terms of needing multiple external hard-drives, etc.
- It is only within the last 5-10 years that people have been actually able to readily and easily share large bootleg files, such as DVD's/Blu-Rays, etc. - Before then, as I'm sure you are aware, everything was done by snail mail and finding someone to trade with and hoping you had something they needed, was sometimes a bit of a chore.
- Most people on this forum, in my experience, do not actively seek trades or find ways in which they can gain the upper hand in order to obtain something they do not already have, ergo why so many people make requests. Also, the most obvious of all is that some people are lazy and unfortunately do not feel the need to give back to a community that has given so much to them. Sometimes it is because they are unable to give though, so there's nothing that I can actively do about that.
As for needing help with Mega.nz - If you mean that you are unsure of how to download from Mega and then burn it into a DVD, I'd be more than happy to help you or I'm sure someone else would. It is rather easy, but obviously knowing in the first place is the issue. I do not understand why you would need to download another browser? Perhaps update yours, if that is an issue due to Mega being a newer site, but otherwise, as long as you have Google Chrome or Mozille Firefox, you shouldn't have any issues with downloading. Although I am definitely a fan of torrents, as it promotes people to help share via their upload ratio, the reason myself and many others do not post in torrents is for the obvious reason that someone has to be actively seeding it at all times, which is not the case for Mega.
Anyhow, if you ever have any technology-type questions, I'd be more than happy to help, although I'd suggest using the "Computer Tech Support" section

Thanks for clearing up a few things. The last thing I want is to piss you off because I absolutely love your site. I'm almost exclusively a video guy. It takes something special like your Newton or Justice demos for me to download audio. About mega, there were a couple shows on here that I really wanted, so I tried my best to download and learn. The first thing said something about a 1 gig limit, and the 2nd thing was they wanted me to install google chrome. I have 2 browsers already and almost exclusively use Internet Explorer. IE is best for an online horse racing site I go to. Also I've had problems with google adding things to my computer that I don't want and it is hard to find where they are stored on my computer and delete them. Plus it sometimes makes the program or application the default when I'd rather have something else be the default.
I'll be the first person to admit that I am a complete idiot when it comes to computers. It is a miracle of God that I learned how to download a torrent and burn a DVD. I come from the VHS days. If I want to share then I have to do it by snail mail and have someone upload it for me. I have done that many times. People give me shit because of my ratio and they think that I'm not sharing, but that is not the case. Since I'm not the uploader, I rarely get a thanks or any kind of credit unless a friend puts my name on the menu when authoring.
I am just so thankful that Mike is willing to come here and share part of his collection in the form of a torrent. Like you said, he probably has the largest Metallica collection I have seen. Before I even heard of this site, I would use his as a reference to the quality, etc. I totally understand why he MIGHT want to hold some shows back to use in trades to build his collection. I did that for Motley Crue. This site has many diehards that probably have a show but got it years ago and could use an upgrade. Luckily Mike and some other members have been able to track down some of these relatively new transfers/upgrades that filmers and old school VHS collectors are digging out and sharing. You know I am a filmer and the way I look at it is why take it to the grave? I'll hold a few things back in order to get something back. I don't like to do it but that is the nature of the game. Some filmers will only do "exclusive" trades that can't be let out once completed. Sometimes I have to film a band I don't like to get something in return. Perfect example is Iron Maiden. I don't have a single boot of theirs in my collection but plan on filming them (and Ghost) as a way of giving back for all the shows I have gotten via torrent.
So to make a very long story short, I prefer a torrent because I know how to do it. If mega is the only other way for me to get a show I want then I'll have someone download it for me and do a snail mail trade. Luckily there are still a few people out there that do them.

Hey brother,
Firstly, I wanted to say and let you know that I greatly appreciate your involvement and participation on this forum. "Forums" these days are almost like dinosaurs...long since extinct, and generally not thought of when trying to obtain something. However, although I am not particularly young nor old, I do continuously try to bridge both gaps. I am professionally involved in the technological world and always try to learn as much as I can. I haven't been a Metallica trader/bootlegger as long as you have (it seems), but at the same time I've been around long enough to understand the difference and what is going on between both sides of the different trading worlds.
I sincerely apologize that you felt the need to say that you didn't want to "piss me off". This is most certainly not my style of leadership and not the way I want you to be thinking about this forum. More than anything, this forum is a community and a friendship. I honestly can't tell you how many friends I now have thanks to starting this forum back in 2005. Thanks to the advent of FaceBook, I now am very involved in the lives of fellow members.
I feel your pain, and I honestly do, about having to keep up with the never-ending new technologies and how people share them. I'm sorry that you have been ripped off before with your video captures, I truly am. I like to consider myself a music historian, as I am heavily invested in family geneaology as well. I am more than well aware of how people want to have their info live on and how people want to be remembered. I will never and have never taken credit from another person in order to help myself or in order to simply leave anonymity.
As for Mega, I promise you that I can teach you, very simply, how to download and make into DVD, so that you do not have to rely on snail mail. Just send me a PM or ask in the Computer Tech Support area.
Thanks again for all of your participation in both this forum and the trading world!

As it relates to this show, I'll upload it this week.
I have no problem sharing my entire collection with certain special exceptions (taper's or author's request, NFT, or personal reasons). I do very little trades since it's getting harder to find new shows and new Metallica collectors. A lot of the new Metallica shows from the past few years just gets uploaded to YouTube and never hit the trading community. A lot of old school tapers only want to sell shows and other traders have quit all together. If someone asks me for a show, 99% of the time upload it or mail it to them for nothing in return, as long as their request is reasonable.
I've stopped publicly sharing for quite awhile mainly since it seems like I'm the only one doing the vast majority of the sharing and I'd like to see others contribute to this great site. I also see a lot of the same people doing the requests, but almost never uploading anything to share. They'll complain about their upload speeds as an excuse not to share. I used to share audio shows on dial-up, so slow bandwidth should never be an excuse. Don't wait for people to request shows, just share anything. There will always be someone who didn't have it!
If anyone ever needs technical assistance send me a PM or ask in the Computer Tech Support area. I've helped setup numerous trading sites (mainly MyHobbySite) and other websites, configured torrent clients and other software, set up FTP servers and FTP clients. I've even helped configured people's routers and firewalls.

Not sure how many versions of Baton Rouge there are but I just got the Hambone version a couple days ago. I found a guy with a large Metallica collection that was willing to do a huge snail mail trade. I went for Metallica and he went for Crue. He wants to do another one too. Gotta watch the new shows first. Sorry Mike, he didn't have anything rare. I used your site as a reference to locate the correct sources. To the others, keep the requests coming. I found most of them. I'm sure eventually someone will be willing to do something snail mail with me then upload and share here. I'm not going to name the guy, but someone privately requested 30 shows. I found 29 of them. Due to the amount and the fact he lived in a foreign country, all I asked for is postage and blanks. Nothing else and no dice. If it were a US collector and a couple shows, I would just send it out to be nice............as long as they upload here and share.

There is a 2nd source of Baton Rouge that is entirely screenshot. So it's not as a good as the other source.
