This was the last show of this leg of Rammstein's 2010 tour.
This recording was made by me holding the Edirol R-09 in my hand during the whole
concert. I tried to keep the area in front of it clear of heads all the time and
I think I managed it. This happened because I forgot to take my special concert
jacket with me from Athens, so I didn't have a pocket to put the recorder in
Great trip with two friends of mine to Belgrade for the Rammstein concert. I'm not a
big fan, but the idea of visiting Belgrade and the plan we made really set me on fire
and I decided to follow. So, me and Mac travelled from Athens to Thessaloniki on
Thursday after work. We slept for 2,5 hours at his home there and then we went to the
train station where we met our friend Soc and on 05:57 we departed for Belgrade. The
train was a coupet, so we threw ourselves in a coupet and started to enjoy the ride.
Fortunately, the seats were something like Transformers and we managed to shape three
beds, where we slept for some hours! At some point, company joined us at the coupet.
By that time we were over with sleeping, so this was not a problem! We arrived in
Belgrade almost 14 hours after leaving Thessaloniki, but we enjoyed every part of this
trip.
The concert was held in Europe's second biggest arena. The Belgrade Arena holds 25.000
people and we were told that the concert was sold-out. Combichrist was the support band,
but I didn't tape them. We arrived at the Arena while they were playing their forst song.
Nice electrogoth, not really my cup of tea, but nice. Rammstein took the stage at 21:00.
Their performance was very professional and I liked the setlist quite a lot. They play
a lot of songs from the latest album, which is reasonable since this tour is a tour to
support Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da. The old songs were all very nice. As for the effects
and the pyrotechnics, all of them were quite impressive. During Benzin Till set a roadie
on fire. During Feuer Frei! Till, Paul and Richard were spitting gigantic flames from
their mouths! During Pussy, Till rode a canon, he pointed it at us and started spraying
us with foam that looked like semen. The canon was moving across the stage, so he threw
this "semen" all over the front rows. During Engel Till wore a pair of impressive wings.
Great show by the Germans. I will see them again in Greece in June.
As for Belgrade, I liked the city very very much. I definitely plan to visit it again.
The train trip was a nice experience. Well, we came back to Athens by plane, the plan
was carefully set to be as tiring as we can handle!
